OUR ENGAGEMENT

On that fateful night Craig picked Emma up after work and instead of the usual drive straight home he suggested they take a tour around Stanley Park (the beautiful forested park just off the downtown) to enjoy the view of the North Shore city lights. They enjoyed the fantastic scenery for a while as they drove along the perimeter, until they came up to one of the great vistas, Prospect Point.  This was special because Stanley Park was the first place they ever went on a date where they spent a long time enjoying the view getting some great summer-time sunburns in the process.

Craig parked the car and turned to say "Hey lets go for a walk and enjoy the scenery"

Emma's response: ".... mmm that's okay, I'm good."

Craig: "Naw, c'mon, it's a nice night. Let's go and walk for a bit"

Emma: "No really, I'm warm, the hockey game is on the radio, lets just drive..."

(Craig's brain is thinking "*crap* my plan is falling apart")

So Craig turned off the ignition and got out of the car, to maybe get the point across. Emma got out, bundled up and they took a nice stroll up to the lookout. As they walked and talked, Emma started to get suspicious when she noticed Craig's voice beginning to crack and felt his heart bursting out of his chest going warp-speed.

(Women really have no idea how distressing this whole ordeal is for men.)

Before the moment was lost Craig dropped down on one knee, whipped out the rock, and told Emma that he couldn't imagine a day going by without her in his life. Her mouth dropped open, her eyes popped out and all she managed to say was "Are you serious?  I don't know what to say!" with a big beaming smile. Craig suggested that she could say yes, and is very glad she did!

Needless to say that they had a really good laugh about all of this afterwards!
