September

September has seen Kaden getting more and more vocal. He hums, coos, sighs, snorts and grunts. He's also become a master at the raspberry. Occasionally we get treated to his inside voice, but more often than not, it's the outside voice he pulls out. Most recently he's been working on his consonants (g - d - b - m - y)...the following is a selection of videos where we've tried to capture a good cross-section of Kaden-speak. The last 2 are a little longer, but not as long as hearing him sound off in his crib at 6am!

September 30, 2007 - Despite the miserable weather (apparently we haven't seen this kind of rain since last November) we spend the morning walking (and napping) for a good cause. Kaden takes his breakfast to go and we join up with our other teammates for a 5km walk around False Creek.

Getting every more dexterous in the Intellitainer, Kaden has discovered the buttons make noise.
Button mashing seems to be his favourite new passtime. Too bad one sound doesn't finish before another one starts.
Can anyone say ADD?

September 29, 2007 - We enjoy another Daddy-Day with some playtime at home followed by a stroll and some more playtime at the park. Kaden takes his first go at the swings. Fun!

Kaden takes his first solo flight on a swing.

September 28, 2007 - Kaden plays with the balloons he got to surprise Auntie Laura - I'm sure he's thinking "how do I get this shiny slippery things into my mouth?". Congrats to Auntie Laura for her new position as VP Howell!

September 28, 2007 - Fall is definitely here. Fortunately we still seem to have some sunshine. Kaden and mom take an afternoon walk to enjoy the brisk fall air. I'm not sure what that look Kaden is giving me means!

September 26, 2007 - on the heels of sweet potato (which is still questionable) this is what Kaden thinks of pear...

September 26, 2007 - Auntie Esther pays us a visit and brings a hat that fits Kaden's big melon! Kaden also got another treat - a toy phone. He sure does love the phone...especially the one we use...but this is a close second.

September 25, 2007 - To give our little man some more room to sit, play and inevitably fall we bought a play mat to give him a little cushion while getting a little education!

Our little man is getting better at sitting, balancing and reaching. Everyday he surprises us with his new skills.

Hooray for Christmas in September!!! Kaden is enjoying taking his meals in his new highchair - thanks Nanna and Poppa! On the menu this week - sweet potatoes - delish! And yes, we realize the chair is coordinated with the rest of our kitchen ;]

Check out those happy food feet!...and the chomping action!

September 23, 2007 - We take a Sunday stroll in the Byrne Creek Ravine - can you believe this is basically in our backyard?

September 18, 2007 - Where does the time go. Our little man has now been with us for a half a year. Amazing. We have been having so much fun watching him grow and change. It seems like every day he surprises us with something new.

Splish Splash Kaden's takin' a bath!

September 14-16 - TOFINO - surfs up!!! We rented a great house on Chesterman Beach and enjoyed a weekend getaway with some friends.

"Let's go surfin' now everybody's learning how come on and safari with me...."

September 11, 2007 - Dad enjoys some quality munching time with Kaden. You can see Kaden is getting much better at eating. He kicks his feet with excitement and opens his mouth with anticipation. We've mastered rice and barley cereal and this week we're trying bananas - yum!

Early September adventures include taking more of an interest in the aquarium, practicing sitting, extending his reach (he can now grab his mobile friends), and continuing to explore everything with his mouth (this could have something to do with more teeth on the horizon)!

Is he a motor boat? An opera singer? A milkshake?!?

Kaden is really getting the hang of his Intellitainer. He can push buttons, grab (and eat) the rattle, spin the mirror and even move himself from side to side - thanks to those jolly jumping legs. He hasn't mastered turning around, but he's starting to catch on.

Kaden's will may just get that mirror into his mouth yet.
